Collection: Cityscapes

Evening in Paris.
<span style=`font-size: medium;`>Built by French film distributor Pathé to showcase their films, the legendary Paris Theater opened in 1948 and remains the only single-screen arthouse cinema in New York City. With its Arte Moderne style, one-of-a kind signage, it became a premier venue for the best films from around the world. Just steps from Fifth Avenue, the theater is a New York City treasure; here it is depicted on a crisp late fall evening.
Conservatory, Central Park NYC #2.
<span style=`font-size: small;`>Returning to a scene I painted many years ago in spring, the Conservatory is seen in early fall surrounded by residential buildings along Fifth Avenue and leaves beginning to create a palette of autumn colors. The Conservatory is an iconic and beautiful place in New York City in every season.
Spring Street Market, NYC.
<span style=`font-size: small;`>The New York City landscape is constantly changing, and this 24/7 market at the corner of Spring and Lafayette Sts. is no longer there, succumbing to the general development of the area. This lonely and somewhat intimidating scene was attractive to me as the dramatic light and complementary red-green of the awning and sidewalk reflections demonstrate how bright and colorful the City can be at night.
Grand Central Station, Main Concourse. Carlow East. New York City Public Library. Village Meeting.
<span style=`font-size: small;`>A sunny morning in Greenwich Village, New York City.
Brooklyn Promenade in Snow. Brooklyn Bridge in Snow.
The beauty of the Brookly Bridge architecture remains evident in a snowstorm.
Twenty-Third Street, NYC. Nighttime on Twenty-third St in New York City; iconic Empire State Building glows against a midnight blue sky in early fall. Near Prince Street, New York City. A street vendor patiently waits for his next diner in Soho, New York City. Bow Bridge, Central Park, NY. I`ve painted the iconic Bow Bridge several times. I never tire of doing so. It`s such a beautiful architectural structure in a beautiful Central Park, NY setting. Bethesda Terrace, Central Park, NY.
<span style=`font-size: small;`>Overlooking the Lake in Central Park, the Bethesda Fountain is seen from the arcade under the Terrace. Constructed mostly during the American Civil War, the Fountain and Terrace were started in 1861 and completed in 1873.
Sociale on Henry Street, Brooklyn NY.
<span style=`font-size: small;`>Sociale restaurant, since relocated, is seen in this painting along Henry Street in Brooklyn Heights, NY. The scene is brunch on a beautiful sunny day in spring.
JG Melon, NYC. An original oil painting on linen canvas of JG Melon restaurant and tavern, a fixture in the Upper East Side of New York City for nearly 50 years. On a balmy summer late afternoon/early evening, customers dine al fresco and gather on the street as well. The setting sun casts beautiful shadows on the original building dating from the 1920`s. Summer in the City. At Chicago Art Institute.
An original oil painting of one of two lion sculptures gracing the entrance of the Art Institute of Chicago. Commissioned for the Institute`s new location, the bronze sculptures, by famed animal sculptor Edward Kemeys, took their place in front of the museum in 1894 and are considered the artist`s best work.
Palm Too, NYC.
On a bright and sunny day, this is a painting of the Palm Too restaurant on Second Avenue in New York City. Sun streaming across the hundred-year-old tenement buildings casts beautiful shadows from architectural details. This painting is a diptych, two 30` x 30` paintings together to form one image 30` x 60`.
Mott Street, Chinatown, NYC. Midafternoon in Chinatown in New York City in fall; the sun streams between buildings as locals shop and mingle. Late Fall Sunlight, Lower Broadway, NYC. 76th & Fifth, New York City. It was early morning in July, street vendors were already in place hoping for a busy day at the entrance to Central Park at 76th Street and Fifth Avenue in New York City. The early morning sun streams across the Avenue giving the pavement a warm glow, with cool shadows. Such inspiration! Imperial Vintner, Greenwich Village, NY. An original oil painting of a New York City street scene at night. The scene is along Hudson Street in Greenwich Village in late Fall. Morton Street, Greenwich Village NYC. A sunny early Spring day along Morton Street in Greenwich Village NYC. The late afternoon sun cast beautiful shadows on the residential buildings, displaying sharp angular shapes of red and blue. Broadway, Astoria, NY. Growing up in Astoria, Queens NY and living one block from the elevated subway line, I would often travel to Manhattan, climbing the stairs pictured to the trains above the street. I recently returned to the neighborhood to do a series of paintings capturing the drama of the hulking `el` structure over the street at Broadway & 31st Street, which I hope takes on a certain architectural beauty in this painting. Mezzogiorno, SoHo New York City.
<span style=`font-size: medium;`>SOLD OUT
Copley Square Hotel, Boston. Near Times Square, New York City. An original oil painting of Times Square in New York City, at the corner of Broadway and 46th Street on a rainy night in late December, 2011. The neon lights reflect from every surface creating a blaze of warm reds, yellows and orange colors, as pedestrians scurry through the ever present throngs of visitors and tourists in the area. Washington Square Park, New York City. An original oil painting of Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village, New York City. The George Washington Memorial Arch, constructed in 1892 following the centennial celebration of the first president`s inauguration is depicted with the protected row of Greek Revival style houses on the north side of the park remaining from that time. Fifth Avenue at 12th Street, New York City, Rainy Night. An original oil painting depicting Fifth Avenue and 12th street on a rainy night in New York City. View is from the Salmagundi Club facing north toward the Empire State Building, visible in the background. Summer on West 19th Street, New York City. An original oil painting of a warm summer day on West 19th Street in New York City. The brownstones were shimmering a warm light, reflecting their beautiful architecture. Bleecker Street Farms. Off Prince Street. On a sunny day in SoHo, New York City, the sunlight and shadows of firescapes and architecture make an old building come alive. Pizano’s. St. Regis Hotel, New York. An original oil painting of New York City at night, featuring the St. Regis Hotel during the Christmas holiday season in the year 2010. The city lights create a rainbow of dramatic colors; the opulence of the hotel is in counterpoint to the street vendors which gather along Fifth Avenue. The hotel is bathed in warm lights highlighting the flags and the building`s beautiful French Baroque architecture. Along MacDougal Street, Greenwich Village. Tapas Bar, Lincoln Park. Oyster Bar. Minetta Tavern. MacDougal Street Ale House. Portland Avenue. Early Morning Soho #1.
<span style=`font-size: medium;`>SOLD, limited edition giclees available.
Early Morning SoHo #2.
<span style=`font-size: medium;`>SOLD, limited edition giclees available.
Sheep Meadow, Central Park. Literary Walk, Central Park. Italian Fountain. Bow Bridge, Early Spring. Bow Bridge. SoHo, Early Sunday Morning.
<span style=`font-size: x-small;`><span style=`color: #ff9900;`><span style=`font-size: medium;`>SOLD

<span style=`font-size: small;`><span style=`color: #ff9900;`>This oil painting was a finalist winner in The Artist`s Magazine 27th Annual Art Competition, 2010.
Conservatory, Central Park, New York City.
<span style=`font-size: large;`>SOLD - Limited edition giclees available.
View From Central Park. Caffe Del Mare, Greenwich Village New York City. This is an original oil painting of Caffe Del Mare, a night scene in Greenwich Village in New York City. The restaurant is located at MacDougal Street. It was a rainy evening, and the brilliant yellow colors from the restaurant awnings and taxicabs created beautiful reflections on the wet streets. Christopher Street Tattoo, Greenwich Village NY. Cornelia Street Cafe, New York City.
<span style=`font-size: large;`>SOLD
Above Grand St. NYC.
